Our song doesn't have an original video as it was never released as a single, so it is hard for me to analyse the original music video for our song choice. However, there are televised live performances of the band performing the song which seems like the next best thing so:
Our video will differ from this in a number of ways, largely because ours will be a music video with a lot of thought and planning and editing whereas this was broadcast on live television from the band's headlining set at Glastonbury.
As our video is planned not live it will be much more stylised in the editing. We plan to have a number of slow fades and quick cuts in time with the music as well as the footage being in black and white. We also plan on using many more shots than they could in this video as obviously it was live so they only had a few cameras. However, I do like some of the way the shots are framed on the band members and we may use similar shots ourselves to look professional and get the best possible shots we can.
Another key difference will be the diamond imagery/narrative that this video obviously can contain none of but we plan to feature in ours. This video solely focuses on the band as it as filmed at a live music festival where the music is the most important thing, whereas ours is a music video where the visuals are as important or sometimes more important than the song itself, meaning the interesting shots of diamonds and narrative will be much more appropriate.
