Creating the CCTV Effect

In media today we set about trying to create a CCTV effect for one of our base tracks of the band performing next to the diamonds. We filmed the base track from the top right corner of the room and tried to keep the camera stationary with the intention of using Final Cut Pro effects to make it look authentic. Here are some videos from the process:

Our learning process and some information about our teacher/guru.

Us applying the effects and beginning the rendering process.

And finally the rendering process, appropriately soundtracked by the music coming from Group 7's computer. We waited for the video to render for about an hour. This final video may seem boring, pointless and seemingly never ending but that just makes it an accurate representation of the actual process of waiting for video to render.

After the video finally rendered we went to add a few more effects such as turning the footage black and white and a little more CCTV-ish (not to take anything away from our Youtube tutor). However, this then required us to render the footage again and there was simply no time as the lesson was over. So for updates on how the final effects will look you will have to look out for future posts.

The video tutorial we learnt from.
