Me and my group chose the song Parklife - Blur.
Creating the digipak was fairly easy and straightforward, I took a lot of inspiration from
Blurs album Parklife.
The front cover for Blur's version features a race dog, which is very strange. Whilst we where filming on set a really friendly cat starting walking round us so we stopped filming and watched it for about 10 minutes. I was taking some shots behind the scenes and managed to get this one <--- and without realising we could mirror Blurs.
I kept Blur's logo & album font but changed the colour, and put the PA sticker in the bottom corner.
For the back I took the foundation from another Blur album, but replaced the main image with a door that featured in our video.
For the inside, I just used a brick texture and got a London street sign, changed it to Parklife and finished. Wahay.
Strengths
I really enjoyed making that Digipak, and hopefully I can make my A2 one even better. Fingers Crossed!
- Follows inspirations CD (Blurs - Parklife)
- Photo fits well on cover
- Text is easily readable and follows Blurs conventions
- Back covers foundation is legit
- Door photo is placed ideally
Weaknesses
- I don't know why I put the PA sticker there, it's not needed
- I don't think the brick foundation for the inner cover works that well
- The street sign is okay, but I could have made it better, alas
