Early Digipak Ideas #1

Before we really started learning about digipaks while we were working on the video I came up with a few ideas I thought I might want to try to do properly for my digipak when the time came around. I initially liked the album cover from the Kanye West album 808s & Heartbreak and the subsequent singles he released featuring the same style of artwork.

What reminded me of these covers was when I saw Justin Bieber's new series of single covers for his 'Journals' which is clearly ripping off these designs.

So I thought I would see if I could apply this style to The Jewellers and to see if it worked. I came up with a bunch of designs and thought they looked alright.

However, like I said this was a while ago and since then Justin Bieber has unfortunately come out with this design for his next single:

But apart from this I just don't really want to do this style of design anymore. It seemed ok at the time but looking back on it I don't think it is the right way to go for The Jewellers, a new rock band. I will leave this style of design for Kanye West/Justin Bieber to keep doing.
